Clinton County Electric Cooperative will again sponsor up to 12 area sophomores or juniors to attend Youth Day in Springfield to be held on April 3, 2019. This event is sponsored by the cooperative and the Association of Illinois Electric Cooperatives. Two students will be selected to go to Washington DC from June 14-21, 2019 for an all-expense paid tour.

Youth Day in Springfield and Youth Tour to Washington DC are open to high school sophomores and juniors that are children of Clinton County Electric Cooperative members. (Children of Clinton County Electric Cooperative Board of Trustees or employees may attend at their own expense.)
YOUTH TO SPRINGFIELD.
Up to 12 students will participate with more than 125 other youths from other Illinois electric cooperatives in Illinois Rural Electric Youth Day in Springfield set for April 3, 2019. The day’s activities in Springfield will include touring the State Capitol complex, visiting with legislators and a luncheon. Transportation to Youth Day in Springfield will be provided by the Cooperative.
Of the 12 students attending Youth Day in Springfield, two will have the opportunity to participate in the Washington DC Youth Tour. The two local winners will join about 70 other Illinois students who are winners of similar contests sponsored by other Illinois electric cooperatives. They will travel on air-conditioned buses, leaving on June 14 and returning June 21. While in Washington DC, they will visit such attractions as the White House, U.S. Capitol, Smithsonian Institution, Arlington National Cemetery, Lincoln Monument and many other national monuments and places of interest.
The Association of Illinois Electric Cooperatives sponsors 12-$2000 scholarships for students that are entering college and are the sons or daughters of an electric cooperative member, director, or employee.
Six scholarships will be awarded to students who are the sons or daughters of an electric cooperative member who resides in Illinois and is receiving service from the cooperative at the time the scholarship application is submitted.
The seventh scholarship – the Earl W. Struck Memorial Scholarship – will be awarded to a student who is the son or daughter of an electric cooperative employee or director who resides in Illinois.
A scholarship applicant is eligible for consideration in only one of the above two categories, and is eligible to apply through only one electric cooperative. The applicant must be a high school senior who is planning to enroll in a full-time (at least 12 hours) undergraduate course of study at an accredited two-year or four-year college, university, or vocational/technical school in the United States.
The eighth, ninth, tenth, and eleventh scholarships will be awarded to a high school senior who will be enrolling full-time at a two-year Illinois community college. Sons and daughters of electric cooperative members, employees and directors who reside in Illinois are eligible to apply.

Applications must be submitted online to the AIEC on or before December 31, 2019.
The Association of Illinois Electric Cooperatives in conjunction with Lincoln Land Community College sponsors 1-$2000 scholarship for an individual who is interested in enrolling in Lincoln Land Community College’s line worker training program. The individual must be related to a rural electric cooperative employee or director in the State of Illinois; is the son or daughter of an electric cooperative member in Illinois; is enrolled in the Lincoln Land lineworker’s school; or has served or is serving in the U.S. armed forces or National Guard. The Official Rules and Regulations of the scholarship provide more details. Applications must be received by CCEC on or before April 30, 2020.
For many years, Clinton County Electric Cooperative, Inc. has granted scholarships to students whose parent(s) or legal guardian(s) are members of the cooperative and whose primary residence is served by Clinton County Electric Cooperative. We are proud to announce that we will again carry on the tradition by proudly sponsoring fourteen – $500 scholarships, totaling $7,000 this spring to benefit students from our service territory. Two – $500 scholarships will be awarded to two students at each of these seven area schools: Carlyle High School, Central High School, Christ Our Rock Lutheran High School, Mater Dei Catholic High School, Mascoutah High School, Wesclin High School and Kaskaskia College. The Scholarships are awarded based upon criteria set forth by the school they are attending. Please contact the guidance department at the schools mentioned above for an application and more details.
