Rates, Rebates, & Programs
Clinton County Electric Cooperative's NON-CONTROLLED All Electric
Space Conditioning rate is designed to lower your heating and
cooling cost. The rate is available to all members of the Cooperative
for residential and commercial space conditioning, during the twelve
calendar months. The special rate,
5.8 cents/kw-hr, for all geothermal
heating & cooling, is also available for air-to-air heat pumps with a
seasonal energy efficiency rating (SEER) of 12 or greater.
(See list of contractors below)
Clinton County Electric Cooperative will provide a Rheem Fury - Energy
Miser
water heater to its members for $1.00 (tax included). In an
effort to provide one of the safest and most efficient water heaters on
the market, the cooperative is subsidizing the cost for members. The
water heater has a retail value in excess of $225. Each unit comes with
a 6 year warranty on the glass lined tank and 1 year on the elements
and thermostats. The program is designed for new home construction
as well as replacement of faulty existing electric or gas units. This
program also allows the cooperative to control the unit during peak
periods if necessary.
Clinton County Electric Cooperative has a free booklet available to its
members to assist them in designing an energy efficient home. The
booklet is divided into several sections which explain construction
standards and building components that effect efficiency of the
structure. Items such as insulation, fireplaces, framing, moisture
control, and the amount of window area are discussed. A rating
sheet completed prior to construction will help you determine the
efficiency of your home. Little additional cost is involved to build to the
standards and the energy savings will be enjoyed for a lifetime.

GEOTHERMAL HEATING & COOLING DEALERS
CELLULOSE INSTALLATION INSTALLERS
More and More members have been contacting Clinton County Electric Cooperative about our
knowledge of tankless water heaters. Tankless water heaters are becoming more and more
prevalent in today's society. They have their advantages and disadvantages, as do tank-storage water
heaters, and Clinton County Electric Cooperative would like to help you make an informed decision
before the purchase and installation of a new/replacement water heating device. Please view this
paper by Dr.William R.Hoover about storage water heaters Vs. tankless water heaters.
Clinton County Electric Cooperative would like to encourage you to
purchase
Energy Star Rated appliances, heating and cooling equipment,
and lighting products. These products meet or exceed the government
standard for energy efficiency. Unfortunately,
water heaters are not
eligible for energy star ratings, but many other household products are,
like energy saving
Compact Fluorescent Light Bulbs. Installing CFL's in
light fixtures throughout your entire house could possibly cut your monthly
electric bill by up to 8% (every household is different, but all should be
capable of achieving a noticeable reduction).

ARE YOU CONSIDERING INSTALLING GENERATION EQUIPMENT?
Environmental concerns and increases in electric rates have caused some
members to consider purchasing generation equipment to replace all or a portion
of the electricity provided by their utility. Your electric cooperative encourages
member generation of electricity (also known as distributed generation) if it can
be done in a safe, inexpensive and environmentally friendly manner.
However, before making the decision to purchase generating equipment,
members should consider the economics of purchasing the equipment and
determine whether generating electricity will lower their own monthly power
costs. Please download this tri-fold
brochure to help you in your decision making
process. Should you decide to install distributed generation equipment, please
visit our
operations page to see our safety recommendations.
