To report an outage

Before reporting an outage, first check your fuses or circuit breakers and
see if your neighbors have power.

If the problem appears to be with the cooperative's lines, call the office,
give the name the service is listed under, the account number (if available)
and also report any hazardous conditions.

If the line is busy, keep trying. We have three lines coming into the office
but when there are outages caused by widespread storms, etc., there are
lots of people trying to call us.

Our office number, 526-7282 or 1-800-526-7282, is staffed 24 hours a
day, 365 days a year for your convenience.
After regular office hours
these phone numbers are for reporting outages and emergencies.
If you have a 911 address for the location where
your electric service is located, please make sure
the cooperative has this information, if you haven't
already done so. We can then update our records,
which will assist us with proper mail delivery (even
though your mail may be delivered to a post office
box) as well as prompt outage response.
Meter Reading
All meters in our service area are read by neighborhood
meter readers. Our readers serve in a number of ways -
not only reading and reporting our meter readings, but
checking for problems, such as trees in lines or downed
lines. All cooperative meters are sealed - for safety as well
as to prevent meter tampering. If it is necessary for you to
have a meter removed, contact Clinton County Electric
beforehand to break the meter seal.

Budget Billing
A budget billing plan, designed to equalize monthly electric
payments, is available to members with a good payment
    record.

Security Lights
We offer a variety of lights to choose from that will
illuminate your property with small monthly fees starting at
$1.00. If you currently own a mercury vapor security light,
we can replace it with a  high pressure sodium light for a
small one-time fee. High pressure Sodium lights are
brighter and less expensive to operate than mercury vapor.
Contact us to have one installed.

Crime Watch Program
Clinton County Electric employees in radio-equipped
vehicles help fight rural crime through this program. They
can use their two-way radios to notify authorities about
crimes in progress, threatening weather, fires, accidents,
    and other emergencies.

Electronic Funds Transfer
Don't write us another check to pay your bill. By using
electronic funds transfer you can have your monthly bill
automatically paid from your bank account. Call the billing
department for details of this program.
